*The Role*
This opportunity will involve close working with local partners, community groups, and volunteers as well as on-going communication with internal planning and policy partners. *Using your specialist knowledge, you will help guide the management of the citys green space for biodiversity purposes whilst developing and providing strategic policy advice on the role of different green and open spaces within the city.*
Youll come to us with specialist knowledge of biodiversity and green space issues together with the ability to think in strategic and policy terms. Youll also have experience of working with external contractors, community groups, and funding organisations. Your expertise in providing specialist advice and developing projects will be complemented by a degree or equivalent in ecology, environmental science, or similar.
The Nottingham City Parks & Open Spaces Service is a fast-moving dynamic team that manages and constantly improves green spaces across the city. In the last two years, we have won over 40 Green Flag park awards, audited our sites ready for a refreshed Breathing Space strategy, and continued to designate new Local Nature Reserves.
With over 1,500 hectares of green space, including 15 LNRs, four Sites of Special Scientific Interest, and numerous other Sites of Importance for Nature Conservation, this is an exciting place to progress your career.

*ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:*
* An appropriate professional qualification at degree level in ecology, environmental science or similar.
* Knowledge and understanding of biodiversity and greenspace issues, legislation and policy in a local authority context.
* Ability to provide professional advice on biodiversity and greenspace issues.
* A demonstrable track record of delivering environmental awareness raising initiatives and practical improvement projects.
* Experience of developing project and bids for external funding.
* Knowledge and experience of management plan, report and specification writing.

Nottingham City Council is looking for LGV drivers to work across different services within Commercial and Operations. To be responsible for the day to day operations and safety of a small team providing a full range of gardening, refuse, recycling and cleansing duties throughout the City in order to maintain the environment.
