It's been several weeks since the violent attempted coup occurred in our Capitol. The more information we learn, the more disturbing this attack becomes:
- Rep. Ayanna Pressley had her office's panic buttons ripped out before the insurrection occurred.
- Insurrectionists carried pipe bombs, guns and zip ties and planned on kidnapping and killing Vice President Pence and Members of Congress.
- It was revealed that the Capitol Police had been warned of the potential attacks and denied offers for federal help.
- Members of the Capitol Police even took selfies with insurrectionists and directed them inside.
Friend, it's clear that the events of January 6th could have been much, much worse. We need answers and accountability.

Friend, the fact that a fascist mob was able to overtake our Capitol is unacceptable.
It's clear that this was not just simple incompetence of the Capitol Police, and that there may have been some level of coordination between members of the police force and the white supremacist rioters.
Bills like Rep. Bowman's COUP Act will be a crucial step toward accountability for the events of January 6th. This bill will establish a commission to investigate the attack, along with any ties between white supremacists, insurrectionists and the Capitol Police.
