New Staff
Verónica Torres Gonzalez
Bilingual Project Coordinator, Puerto Rico
Verónica Torres Gonzalez is MCN’s new Bilingual Project Coordinator. She will be coordinating our Puerto Rico-based program, "Community Mobilization in Emergency Preparedness" and supporting the Puerto Rico office in reaching local partners and increasing its impact.
Born in La Isla del Encanto, Puerto Rico, Verónica graduated from the University of Puerto Rico, Río Piedras Campus and holds a Bachelor's in Arts and Social Sciences with a focus on Labor Relations. She wants to pursue graduate studies that allow her to work on providing assistance and guidance to health care settings focusing on vulnerable populations. Her passion for justice in health came from her volunteer work and extracurricular activities with MEDLIFE, a nonprofit organization, providing medical supplies, education and development to low-income communities on the island and throughout Latin America. In her free time, she likes to play with her dog, Brownie,
and travel.

Priya Ramamoorthy
Priya Ramamoorthy is an intern at MCN’s Austin office, where she and Rahul are assessing the Health Network needs of Federally Qualified Health Centers around the nation. Along with calling centers to get a better idea of their migrant health needs, the duo are aiming to foster connections between MCN and health centers. Priya was raised in Austin, Texas and is a senior at The University of Texas at Austin. She is currently pursuing a Bachelor’s of Science in Public Health with certificates in computer science and social inequality, health, and policy. In her spare time, Priya enjoys relaxing with a cup of tea, practicing yoga, and going to music concerts with friends.
Rahul Tharoor
Rahul Tharoor is a fourth-year student at The University of Texas at Austin. He is majoring in Human Development and Family Sciences and is pursuing a certificate in Business of Healthcare. Throughout college, Rahul has been a researcher in the Fish Behavior Lab, studying cognitive learning and behavior in differing fish species. Outside of the lab, Rahul has been involved in various service initiatives. He has worked for El Buen Samaritano, where he helped revamp the social-emotional education curriculum for their annual summer camp. He has additionally spent time volunteering and interning for hospice facilities, such as Heartland Hospice and Legacy Founders Cottage. Rahul is planning on attending medical school this upcoming year and is excited to learn more about the health care field through Migrant Clinicians Network. In his free time, Rahul loves to travel, hike, and play tennis with his family and friends.
Lauren Harry
Lauren Harry is a senior at California State University, Chico. Ms. Harry is a communications intern with MCN’s California office for the fall semester. She will be graduating in May 2020 with an organizational communications degree with a minor in marketing. At the age of four, Ms. Harry moved from the Philippines to Hayward, California, where she spent the remainder of her childhood. Some of Lauren’s hobbies include going to the gym, eating, going to music festivals, and walking her dogs.
N’Tuma Kamara
N’Tuma Kamara is a Sophomore at Salisbury University. She is majoring in Community Health and pursuing a certification in nonprofits. Ms. Kamara has a keen interest in maternal and child health and in the organizations that work to address this public health issue. She is interning at MCN’s Maryland office to help improve the lives of mothers and children in vulnerable communities. She hopes to be able to apply what she learns at MCN in her future work as a public health project manager.
