We've read disturbing reports from POLITICO alleging that a far-right extremist not only stole Nancy Pelosi's laptop from her office during the violent Jan. 6 attack on the Capitol but was actively trying to sell her hard drive to one of our greatest rivals, Russia.
Let's call this possible breach of national security what it is -- a direct consequence of Trump and his enablers' unapologetically peddling violent, fear-mongering rhetoric for the past four years. Trump's extremism has left our nation divided and vulnerable, and it's up to us to put an end to it.
We at A Woman's Place know that by supporting the right representatives in the House and Senate, our country can begin to heal and change for the better. We also know that our democracy will no longer be able to survive if Republicans take back control of our government.
Even though Trump's administration has come to an end, his allies in the House and Senate are looking to capitalize on the still-growing demand for displays of extremism, to the point where some Democratic House members are worried that their GOP colleagues may physically attack them.
