Are Christian counselors really torturing gay people and forcing them to change their sexual orientation? That is what the media would have you to believe. Hollywood movies like the recently released film "Boy Erased" depicted scenes of Christians beating gay people with Bibles and LGBT people undergoing extreme physical and psychological abuse that no human should ever endure. But are there actually organizations conducting these kinds of abusive practices? Or is this a false perception and yet another tactic to silence evangelicals holding to a biblical worldview?
These are just some of the important questions we explore in the special features of our recently released documentary In His Image: Delighting in God’s Plan for Gender and Sexuality. Now more than ever, it is critical for Christians to equip themselves with the truth on these issues, which is why we have decided to make these videos available free of charge. Videos like the one shared in this email are important for several reasons. Right now Christian counselors and ministry leaders are being threatened, intimidated, and even sued simply for offering biblical counseling to those with same-sex attraction or gender dysphoria. Many of these individuals have made it their purpose in life to help those with unwanted same-sex attraction by offering talk-therapy and other approved therapies to individuals who voluntarily seek their services.
