To create an economy that works for all of us we need a democracy that works for all of us.

And, to create a truly fair share tax system we need to pass HR 1 and S1 ― the For the People Act ― a once-in-a-generation democracy reform package to clean up our political system, expand and protect voting rights, get Big Money out of politics, hold elected officials accountable for corruption, and create a democracy that values the voices of all Americans.

When we do that, we’ll be able to fight for laws that put working people and communities of color first, while making the rich pay their fair share in taxes and holding corporations accountable to the American people.

Will you become a grassroots co-signer of HR 1 and S1, the For the People Act, and tell Congress to pass critical reforms that clean up corruption in Washington, DC and empower working people to easily participate in our democracy?

Right now, the revolving door in Washington has resulted in many former members of Congress and government employees cashing-in on post-government careers ― becoming high-priced corporate lobbyists. When the GOP passed their disastrous tax scam in 2017, that was a result of intense pressure from 7,000 corporate lobbyists.[1]

Right now, we have the chance to create clean and fair elections, end Big Money’s influence in our politics, and ensure public servants work for the good of the people, not corporations.

This includes making sure that all future major party nominees for president and vice president must release their tax returns, so the American people can determine whether there are any conflicts of interest ― either domestic or foreign.

Right now, we do not know whether the Senate will vote to convict Donald Trump on impeachment charges, or whether he’ll be barred from holding office again. But, do you think he or his children would run for president if they had to release their tax returns?

For years, we’ve seen basic norms and principles trampled by those who seek to profit from positions of power. It’s time to put the power back in the hands of the people.
