John,

For the first time in a decade, Democrats hold the trifecta in Washington.

Control in both chambers and the White House means we have the power to undo the damage Donald Trump has done over the last four years. It means having the leverage to pass Biden’s American Rescue Plan and deliver COVID-19 relief. And it means bypassing right-wing obstruction to finally move forward on legislation to tackle climate change, pass a $15 federal minimum wage, provide student debt relief, and so much more.

I know we have our work cut out for us, but I’m ready to get to work passing an agenda that addresses the crises we face -- here in California’s 49th District and across the country. Take a moment to read through some of my policy objectives for the coming term, and if you’re with me, chip in $3 to help get it done.

With your continued support, we can make progress on a range of issues including:

- COVID-19 relief: The new Administration is fast-tracking higher stimulus payments, expanded testing and tracing, a swift vaccine rollout, a national mask mandate, and more. I promoted these measures on the campaign trail and in Congress -- with Biden in the White House, now we can come together to do what it takes to beat the pandemic.

- Solving the climate crisis: Last year, I served on the House Select Committee on the Climate Crisis where we developed a blueprint for federal climate action and a transition to clean energy. If adopted, it would achieve net zero carbon pollution by 2050, a goal necessary to avoid the worst impacts of climate change. I’m confident we’ll now follow the blueprint and work towards solving the number one challenge of our time.

- Nuclear waste at San Onofre: Closer to home, I’m focused on a measure to remove the radioactive waste from the decommissioned Nuclear Power Plant in San Onofre. We must be forward-looking in our approach to climate change, and simultaneously ensure the health and safety of our residents here in CA-49.

- Defending veterans benefits: After two years of work on the Veterans Affairs Committee, the Veterans Health Care and Benefits Improvement Act was signed into law late last year. I’m proud of what it achieved, and I’ll continue to work to improve veteran education, housing, and survivor benefits.

- Fighting for economic and racial justice: Crushing COVID is just the first step in our economic recovery. We must be ready to fight for real economic and racial justice. Congress can start by passing a $15 federal minimum wage -- no one should be forced to survive on less, especially during a pandemic.

Of course, none of this will be possible without your continued support. Make no mistake: it was your dedication that brought us to this point, and it’s your commitment that will make our shared goals a reality.

The sky's the limit, John. Help me make progress on these key priorities by chipping in $3 today.

Thanks in advance.

Mike
