Friend,
In this promising new year, you stand out as a shining example of kindness and compassion, fueling hope for people in crisis.
Thanks to you and other supporters, many hungry families, homeless veterans, low-income seniors and people in need received VOA relief this past year.
As we all confronted a raging pandemic and struggling economy (which unfortunately continues,) the number of families we provided relief and services to rose drastically. This includes families that never expected to be in this kind of situation, but lost jobs, evictions, and hunger brought them to VOA's doors.
Together we showed what strength and determination can do when we care for others in need, and I can’t thank you enough for being with us.
Speaking of strength and determination, let me tell you about Rachel (in the photo). Rachel is a program manager for VOA Honor, a veteran’s center in one of our local offices. She recently received a Covid-19 vaccination with other frontline healthcare workers. But what mattered most to Rachel is being at the forefront of stopping the virus, to protect the well-being of the people she serves.
We are turning the corner in this terrible crisis. And I hope you are caretaking yourself and your loved ones. As we make our way toward better times, know that you are among the greatest gifts to our nation’s vulnerable neighbors.
Thank you again for all you do, and all that we’ll accomplish together in 2021.
Gratefully yours.
Mike King, President & CEO Volunteers of America
P.S. This is a big birthday year for us…VOA TURNS 125! The honor is ours, to have earned more than a century’s worth of trust as a community services mission. We’ll keep you posted on special anniversary updates. You can stay connected on social media, too.
