Fellow Conservative,

It’s been a busy week in Washington. On Day 1, President Biden took actions to repeal and reverse hard-fought conservative victories of the past four years.

Heritage Action is poised to stop these attacks on our nation but we can’t do it without your leadership and activism.
Here is what happened in Washington this week and how you can help:
Biden’s Radical Nominees
Joe Biden’s call for “unity” is a farce…and it’s most evident in his nominations to lead major government departments.

Biden is now tasked with filling his cabinet and choosing individuals to lead major government departments.

But remember, people are policy—the individuals Biden picks to run these departments will help determine the direction of the country.

And currently, Biden’s selections for his Cabinet are simply too extreme for the American people. Why? Because his nominees have demonstrated a disregard for the views of nearly half of the people of the United States and want to fundamentally alter their lives rather than bringing Americans together.

Biden’s selection of Alejandro Mayorkas, Xavier Becerra, and Neera Tanden to lead the Department of Homeland Security, the Department of Health and Human Services, and the Office of Management and Budget should concern not only conservatives but all Americans.

Heritage Action Executive Director Jessica Anderson released a statement <[link removed]> this past week opposing Biden’s nominees:
“Mayorkas, the architect of the DACA program and leading advocate of amnesty, has advocated to admit millions more illegal immigrants and push for citizenship for 11 million illegal immigrants. Tanden, a key proponent of the Affordable Care Act, has not only supported extreme policies but attacked conservatives repeatedly on Twitter — including some of the same Senators she now asks for a confirmation vote. Becerra’s only experience in healthcare is working to strip the Little Sisters of the Poor of religious exemptions and pushing taxpayer funding for partial-birth abortions.
Rather than inspiring confidence in his calls for unity, President-elect Biden’s nominees seek to force a far-Left agenda on the American people and radically shift the direction of the country.”

We can’t let the Senate confirm Biden’s most radical nominees! We need your help to stop the confirmation of these nominees before they alter the course of our nation for generations to come!

Here’s how you can help:

- Sign up to call your senators and encourage your friends and family to do so as well <[link removed]>. Big Tech continues to censor conservative leaders and prevents many organizations (like ours) from running political ads on their platforms. The only way we can spread the word is by word of mouth.
- Check out our activist toolkit and share the graphics on social media <[link removed]>. We can’t run ads on social media, but YOU can post images and links on your social accounts!
H.R. 1 — “For the Politicians Act”
Remember two years ago when Nancy Pelosi tried to ram through H.R. 1, a bill designed to rig the election system in favor of Democratic politicians by undermining America’s electoral process? Well, she’s at it again.

H.R. 1—a bill dubiously titled the “For the People Act”—contains many provisions that are unhelpful, unnecessary, and unconstitutional:

- Gives taxpayer dollars to politicians to fund their reelection campaigns via a 6-to-1 matching program for small donations.
- Allows candidates to be paid a second salary out of their campaign funds...those same campaign funds that would now be funded with taxpayer dollars.
- Sabotages state voter ID laws by not requiring individuals to show identification.
- Mandates same-day registration that immediately requires states to register a person to vote upon request.
- Unconstitutionally requires states to restore the ability of felons to vote… even if those felons are convicted of voter fraud.
- Requires ballots be counted outside of the voter’s precinct, removing the integrity of the local government to verify voter rolls and oversee elections.

We know Pelosi is planning a vote on H.R. 1 in February. This is the first battle in the fight to defend free and fair elections in our country. Call your representative <[link removed]> and tell them to “Vote NO on H.R. 1.”
Remember, the margin of error for the majority party is narrow—any pressure conservatives put on members to vote against bad policy and bad nominees could have a big impact.

In The News…
Jessica Anderson joined Fox & Friends <[link removed]> to discuss some of Biden’s day one executive actions: closing the Keystone XL Pipeline, stopping border wall construction, and ending the 1776 Project to promote the education of American civics.
For a more in-depth discussion of these executive orders, check out Jessica’s interview on the Problematic Women podcast <[link removed]>.

Thank you for fighting for this nation we love!

Onward,
