AROUND THE DISTRICT
SERVICE ACADEMY NOMINATIONS
The two most important jobs I have as a Congressman are to represent my constituents, and to nominate students to the United States service academies. These students represent the very best of our district and the entire country.
Next Friday (January 28, 2021), it will be my great privilege to announce this year’s service academy nominees. Due to the pandemic, it will be a digital event. If you’re interested, please visit here to register!
COVID-19 VACCINE INFORMATION
Baptist Health Care is working in partnership with Escambia and Santa Rosa counties to provide scheduling and clinical support for those counties’ vaccination events. On January 13, Baptist team members administered 522 vaccinations at an event in Gulf Breeze. Additional vaccination events will be scheduled as more supplies of the vaccine become available.
Additionally, eighteen Publix supermarkets across Escambia, Santa Rosa, and Okaloosa counties have begun administering COVID-19 vaccines to residents 65 and older. Each location can administer 100-125 vaccine shots per day.
You must sign up for an appointment to receive a COVID vaccine shot. Please visit publix.com/covidvaccine for more information.
Finally, veterans in Northwest Florida can schedule an appointment to receive the vaccine through the Pensacola Veterans Affairs Clinic. Matt Gaetz says GOP establishment is ‘in shambles’ and is running from Donald Trump
Gaetz lambasted House and Senate GOP leaders in a segment entitled “the Future of the GOP,” on the pro-Donald Trump program Lou Dobbs Tonight. In the tradition of Newt Gingrich going after moderate Republicans three decades prior, the Panhandle Republican slammed Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy, and Rep. Liz Cheney for distancing themselves from former President Trump and the America First movement writ large. |
