John,
For decades now, the NRA has fought tooth and nail to block gun reform laws. They’ve spent millions on candidates who oppose common-sense laws that 97% of Americans support, like expanding Brady Background Checks to cover all gun sales.
But the NRA’s stranglehold on our political process ends now, John. President Biden and Vice President Harris can take immediate action against gun violence in their first 100 days by leveraging the power of executive actions. It's why we created a bold Executive Action Plan on exactly how the Biden-Harris administration can address America's gun violence epidemic, including by:
✅ Strengthening the Brady Background Check system
✅ Banning assault weapons
✅ Improving gun industry oversight
✅ Regulating untraceable “ghost guns”
With the strongest gun safety administration in our history, we can start to advance lifesaving gun reform in the first days without NRA interference. But we need your immediate help to urge President Biden to take action. Will you endorse our Executive Action Plan now? [[link removed]?]

Victory: Gun Violence Prevention Bills Advance Virginia!
We’re celebrating big wins for gun violence in Virginia! Almost as soon as the Virginia legislative session kicked off, five common-sense gun safety bills passed out of their respective committees and are now on their way to the Virginia House floor. These life-saving bills will ban guns at polling places, ban firearms on state capitol grounds, protect domestic abuse survivors, extend the time law enforcement has to complete a background check, and regulate undetectable "ghost guns.”
We thank the lawmakers who introduced and oversaw these lifesaving reforms, including House Public Safety Chairman Patrick Hope, Firearms Sub-Committee Chairman Jeffrey Bourne, and Delegates Marcus Simon, Alfonso Lopez, Mark Levine, and Kathleen Murphy. We are excited to build upon our historic progress to prevent gun violence in Virginia and build a safer Commonwealth for all. Read more about our legislative priorities in Virginia.

Help Us Honor Sarah Brady!

Sarah Brady testifying before Congress in support of the Brady Bill.
John, we have an exciting opportunity to rename a Virginia elementary school in honor of our namesake and hero, Sarah Brady — but we need your votes!
As Brady supporters know, Sarah Brady made it her life's mission to prevent gun violence after her husband, Jim Brady, was shot in the head in the 1981 assassination attempt of President Reagan. Alongside Jim, Sarah fought for over six years and seven presidencies to pass the Brady Bill, which established our nation's first background check system. To this day, nearly 4 million prohibited purchasers have been blocked from purchasing a firearm — helping save countless lives.
What many don’t know is that Sarah, who was a Virginia native, was also a dedicated public school teacher. She grew up attending Virginia public schools. After she graduated from the College of William & Mary with a degree in Elementary Education, she returned to Alexandria to teach at a newly integrated elementary school where she was an advocate of racial justice. Will you help us honor Sarah Brady's legacy by voting to establish Sarah Brady Kemp Elementary School?

They ran and were elected on the most comprehensive gun violence prevention platform in U.S. history. They are prepared to take a whole-of-government approach to this effort, and we are prepared to assist them. That work begins today.”
