Pro-Trump Republican picked for Va. redistricting commission tweeted about 'rigged' election, used slurs for female celebrities

Friend,

The 2021 redistricting process is just getting started, but the GOP is already coming out swinging.

Last year, Virginians voted overwhelmingly to reform the map-drawing process by establishing a new, bipartisan redistricting commission. But Virginia Republicans are already trying to undermine the integrity of this new system by appointing an extremist, Jose Feliciano, to the commission.

A person who believes that America's elections were rigged has no business drawing our electoral maps, friend. That's why the NDRC is demanding the resignation of Mr. Feliciano. Will you chip in today to support our efforts to defend the integrity of redistricting processes across the country?

Before his appointment to the redistricting committee, Mr. Feliciano publicly:

- Used crude, misogynistic language to refer to female celebrities
- Propagated baseless allegations of a "rigged" election
- Spread lies about DC police harassing Trump supporters leading up to the Capitol insurrection
- Questioned America's involvement in slavery on social media

Additionally, one of Mr. Feliciano's letters of recommendation for the position came from pro-sedition delegate Mark Cole, who signed on to a letter urging Mike Pence to discard Virginia's legitimate electoral votes.

Allowing an individual who is skeptical of our democratic institutions to have influence over our elections is incredibly dangerous. Remember, the maps drawn in Virginia this year will remain in place for ten years. Will you chip in now to help the NDRC keep this kind of extremism out of the redistricting process in states like Virginia?
