John,
For the women of this great nation, there can be no greater means of equality than the right to reproductive choice.
And for 48 years, American women have been allowed the freedom to make these decisions on their own, in consultation with their family and their physicians. But these constitutional rights still remain a struggle -- and throughout this time, there have been people against the freedom of choice, attempting to push reproductive rights back into the shadows.
As chairwoman of the Congressional Pro-Choice Caucus, Diana believes that there is no reproductive freedom until all barriers to abortion access are torn down -- that's why she has always fought to protect and expand abortion access no matter your race, sexuality, zip code, or financial status.
Still, state governments controlled by extremists are attempting to attack reproductive rights like never before -- during the pandemic. They're proposing more gag-rules, waiting periods, abortion clinic closures, and red tape at the state level. These anti-science, anti-choice, and unconstitutional provisions create undue barriers that primarily impact LGBTQ+, disabled, Black, Latino, Indigenous, and/or poor folks. Reproductive rights were just on Colorado's ballot in this past election.
That's absurd. No one should be able to tell a woman how or when to get a check-up. And no politician, now or ever, should tell a woman how to handle her pregnancy.
Decades have gone by since Roe v. Wade, and this is a crucial moment in the fight for reproductive freedom. Diana needs you to add your voice.
Renew your commitment to defending abortion access and upholding Roe v. Wade by signing the petition NOW.
Thank you,
