Hi John,

The National Rifle Association has filed for bankruptcy in New York. And while that may seem like good news, the NRA already announced its plans to relocate and grow its base in Texas -- and we know it won't have any trouble in that mission.

The fact is, John, the inexplicable American affinity for guns has only grown in the past few years. Rather than condemn the violence of the Capitol attacks, Republicans saw it as a demonstration of their second amendment rights, with one GOP representative promising voters to bring her Glock to work on Capitol Hill.

In the lead up to Joe Biden's inauguration, Glocks, ammo, and AR-15s were selling out faster than they could be re-supplied.

The Washington Post has reported that, amidst this crisis, “gun rights are one of the few stopgaps that many people in the United States say they can turn to.” But we believe our country has seen enough violence to appease the pro-gun lobby. That's why today we need to hear from you. Please, tell us if gun reform should be a priority for our Democratic congress:

Would you feel safer with reformed gun laws?

YES   NO

Thank you so much for taking our poll today.
