We're in a new era. With President Biden and Vice President Harris's swearing in on Tuesday, our country looks forward. After four years of fighting to keep our president from making our problems worse, we'll actually fight to solve them.

And with Rep. Raphael Warnock and Rep. Jon Ossoff in the Senate, we've got a Congress eager to work for working families. To move our nation forward.

I'm looking forward to working with the Biden administration to rebuild and modernize our country's failing infrastructure. President Biden is ready to hit the ground running, and I've been working with the transition team to make sure the president addresses all of the priorities I laid out in my infrastructure framework last spring.

I'm especially focused on two priorities: First, that President Biden's plan kickstart the stalled economy by putting millions of Americans back to work in almost all industries: construction, technology, maintenance, manufacturing, management, design, architecture, and more.

Second, infrastructure investment has to prioritize reducing our carbon footprint. Improved infrastructure uses less energy, produces fewer greenhouse gases, and will allow us to integrate new technologies more easily and efficiently. We've got to seize all of those opportunities in order to take the bold steps necessary to contain the climate crisis.

Last week, when he introduced the first piece of his "Build Back Better" agenda, Joe Biden said, "It's time to stop talking about infrastructure and finally start building infrastructure."

I couldn't agree more and I couldn't be more excited to work with the new administration and new Senate to - at long, long last - put people back to work and rebuild our country.

Peter
