The Biden Administration announced today that they will be directing USDA to increase SNAP and P-EBT benefits for kids.
Dear Friend,
Today we celebrate a huge victory in the fight against hunger, as the Biden Administration announced they will be directing USDA to increase SNAP benefits for families with the most need in addition to raising Pandemic-EBT benefits for low-income children by 15 percent.
We're thrilled by this news and wanted to share it with all of you, who have so generously supported us over the last few months. Today's announcement marks the beginning of what we hope will be additional economic relief for those struggling the most, especially Black and Latino families, who have been disproportionately affected by job loss and hunger during the pandemic. Hunger Free America has long advocated for both an increase in SNAP (formerly known as food stamp) benefits and an expansion of the P-EBT program so that no child has to go without a nutritious meal while schools are operating remotely. Today's success is an example of the power of advocacy -- advocating for the policies and programs that will lift people out of hunger and allow them to put food on their tables.
Thank you for being with us as we continue to advocate until no one in this country has to struggle with food insecurity. It is possible, and thanks to your support, we're one step closer to getting that done.
Best,
Joel Berg, CEO
