Folks,

48 years ago today, the Supreme Court handed down one of its most consequential rulings to date in the case of Roe v. Wade. The decision recognized abortion as a constitutional right and overturned anti-choice laws across the country.

Since day one, Republicans have not stopped trying to undermine reproductive rights and overturn Roe v. Wade -- and with a conservative supermajority on the Supreme Court, it's possible that the end of abortion access is on the horizon.

With Democrats in control of the White House and both houses of Congress, now is the time to enshrine reproductive rights into law. If you agree, add your name to join me in calling for a federal law recognizing the constitutional right to choose:

Over a dozen states have passed new restrictions in the past two years, including laws that outlaw abortions past six weeks -- before many women even know they're pregnant. Here in New Mexico, Democrats are working to overturn an old law that targets doctors who perform abortions.

The truth is, abortions happen. When we criminalize the doctors who perform them and the women who seek them out, all we do is fuel the creation of an unstandardized black market that puts patients at greater risk.

Instead of attacking reproductive rights, we should focus on increasing access to contraceptives and family planning services. But Republicans would rather criminalize necessary reproductive healthcare measures and force women to bear the consequences of those laws.

Reproductive healthcare decisions should be made by women, their families, and their doctors -- not the government. Sign the petition to join me in calling for a federal law guaranteeing the right to choose:

Thanks for speaking up on this important issue,
