More than 39,000 Americans are killed each year from gun violence -- and North Carolina is no exception.
In 2017, our state was the site of 1,430 of those deaths -- a number that has been steadily rising over the last few years.
We can adopt commonsense gun violence prevention legislation like universal background checks to turn this tide. Yet, powerful Republican state legislators have refused to take up these votes.
Solving gun violence should not be a partisan issue -- it is time for North Carolina to act.
Add your name to our petition and tell the legislature to act on gun violence.
