Friend, Raphael Warnock and Jon Ossoff were sworn in as United States senators - and Democrats hold the Senate majority for the first time in six years.
But our majority is the slimmest it could possibly be. Any close votes will require a tiebreaking vote from Vice President Harris. And if Democrats don't do everything in our power to protect our narrow, newly won majority, Mitch McConnell will be right back in charge obstructing our progress.
So here's the deal: We know Nevada Sen. Catherine Cortez Masto's seat will be the BIGGEST target of Republicans this cycle - especially because it was thanks to her leadership that we sent Mitch McConnell to the minority. Outside groups spent nearly $50 million on her race in 2016, and we can be sure they'll put everything they've got into flipping her seat red.
That means grassroots Democrats must start organizing NOW to protect Nevada's Senate seat and hold our narrow Senate majority - because that majority is FAR too narrow to sit back and do nothing.
