John, we’re putting in a lot of work to find our next slate of progressive primary challengers for 2022. But it’s expensive.

Our digital team has been running ads across the country asking folks to nominate someone they know to be a Justice Democrat. It’s a big thing to ask people to come forward and say: “Someone I know is ready to run for Congress as a Justice Democrat.”

We’re organizing and doing as much outreach as we can, but we need to be able to reach people digitally. We find the best candidates when we expand our search online, on the phone, and in-person.

Over the last few years, we helped elect new progressive leaders to Congress. And we recruited three of them: Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Cori Bush, and Jamaal Bowman.

It was hard work to find the bartender, nurse, and principal to run for Congress. We’ve seen just how important AOC has been to the progressive movement for a Green New Deal, higher taxes on the wealthiest Americans, and much more. We’ve seen how critical and impressive Cori and Jamaal’s leadership has been following the attack on the U.S. Capitol during just their first few days in office. And we’ve seen how much all three have done to reach young people and marginalized communities with their message of justice and transformative change.
