Chapter Meeting

Join us Wednesday, January 27 at 6:30pm for our chapter meeting! We will discuss the possibility of a ‘Fight for the Public’ local anti-austerity campaign, vote on our participation in statewide DSA efforts, and hear about new ways to get involved in the fight for Medicare for All. We’ll also get updates on the End the War on Yemen day of action and talk about ways we can pressure our weapons-funded congressman to represent his pro-peace constituents.

Car Caravan for Single Payer Healthcare in CA

The California Nurses Association and National Nurses United are calling on supporters of MEDICARE FOR ALL SINGLE PAYER HEALTHCARE to make their voices (and car horns) heard in car caravans all over California. We know that in order to win, we must build a strong, multi-racial, grassroots movement in every corner of our state. That starts with a wide and visible Kickoff Day of Action, join us on Saturday for our car caravan!

Hello. My name is __________ and I'm a constituent from Santa Barbara, CA. I urge you, Representative Carbajal, to cosponsor and vote in favor of Congressman Meek’s legislation H.J.Res.15 and H.J.Res.16 This legislation would stop the shipment of hundreds of millions of dollars worth of new weapons to Saudi Arabia.

Saudi Arabia, along with the UAE, is a leading driver of violence in Yemen and has helped create the worst humanitarian crisis on the planet. The Saudi coalition’s airstrikes and blockade are responsible for the majority of civilian casualties. Hospitals, markets, and essential infrastructure have been destroyed, crippling Yemen’s economy.

Yemen needs humanitarian aid and a ceasefire, not more bombs.

I also ask you to publicly urge the Biden administration to immediately reverse the Trump administration's designation of the Houthis in Yemen as a foreign terrorist organization. Such an unwarranted designation will result in a virtual blockade of all food and medicine desperately needed in Yemen.
