Hello,
In all that happened in 2020 (and as we all know, a LOT happened) — we witnessed several historic moments in the fight to defend reproductive justice:
* Amy Coney Barrett, a staunch anti-choice judge, was sworn into the Supreme Court.
* Several states, including Texas and Louisiana, passed draconian restrictions on women's healthcare.
* Michigan Senator Gary Peters broke through the stigma surrounding abortion rights — sharing his personal story about how unconstitutional regulations on abortion put his wife's life in danger.
* We voted Donald Trump, whose track record on reproductive freedom was more than terrifying, OUT of office.
* And activists in Kansas stopped a dangerous constitutional amendment in its tracks.
Reproductive justice isn't a "women's issue" — it's a civil rights issue. These victories and setbacks show that our fight to ensure affordable and fair access to reproductive health care must continue into the new year.
Forty-eight years — nearly half a century — after the Supreme Court's Roe v. Wade ruling, we are still fighting to protect a person's right to reproductive health care. Add your name next to Derek's if you agree we need to remain vigilant opposing any proposals that would limit care options in 2021.

Since taking office, Derek has always been guided by the key principle that decisions about health care are best made by the patient in consultation with their doctors. These deeply personal decisions should not be interfered with or replaced by the judgment of politicians.
As your representative and as a member of the Pro-Choice Caucus, Derek will continue to stand up for reproductive rights.
On today's anniversary, recommit to the work of defending access to reproductive health care. Add your name next to Derek's today.
