Hello John,

A reindeer has been spotted on a beach in Formby in Merseyside. It is believed he escaped from an event in Formby woods in December last year.

'Go Santa', based at Go Outside in Formby woods, hosted a new festive attraction in December, which was created as a Covid-secure event. If animals can be used to make money, even during a pandemic, they will be!

TAKE ACTION NOW: tell Go Outside to stop using animals-for-hire in their events!

The reindeer is believed to be named Alfie, and he is a captive of the Reindeer Lodge, who keep and 'supply' reindeer for use in festive events.

Since his escape on the 23rd December, he has been sighted everyday in the local area. Some even believe he was spotted on Formby beach, a very strange environment for a reindeer. We can only imagine how frightened he must be, and yet, he seems quite determined to hang onto his newfound freedom!

It is high time we stopped seeing reindeer being dragged about the UK from pillar to post for a cheap Christmas thrill. These highly sensitive, unique, semi-wild animals deserve better and we need your help to make sure that happens.
I am asking for your help today to deman Go Outside end their use of live animals in events like these. Animals are not props for entertainment!

Take Action
  1. Send an email to Go Outside now!
  2. Make a donation to our Release Rudolph appeal to fuel the fight for reindeer!
  3. Share the campaign page with your friends and family!
The festive season may have passed but companies like this plan their events early in the year, so we need to stop them NOW to protect animals.

We are monitoring the situation with Alfie, who may still be roaming free. Keep an eye out on our social media pages for updates!

Thank you so much for taking action.

For the animals,
