BREAKING! The House of Representatives will send the impeachment article charging Donald Trump with Incitement of Insurrection to the Senate on Monday.
The New York Times reports, "Once the article arrives, Senate rules say the chamber must almost immediately be transformed into a court of impeachment and sit in judgment until a verdict is reached."
Republican Liz Cheney explained during the House impeachment process, "The President of the United States summoned this mob, assembled the mob, and lit the flame of this attack. Everything that followed was his doing. None of this would have happened without the President. The President could have immediately and forcefully intervened to stop the violence. He did not.”
The Washington Post editorial board agrees: "The known scale of Mr. Trump’s offense already qualifies him for severe punishment, and the danger he poses to American civic life is too substantial to ignore...The Senate must convict him quickly."
