Dear John,

Last year, the “Lower Drug Costs Now Act,” a historic bill to lower prescription drug costs, passed in the House of Representatives but former Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell refused to allow it to come to a vote in the Senate. Fortunately, President Biden has made it a top priority of his Administration to get this landmark legislation passed in both the House and Senate, and then brought to his desk for his signature.

Seniors simply cannot wait any longer for real relief. Now, at the height of the coronavirus pandemic, many older Americans are still being forced to choose between paying for groceries or their essential prescription drugs …

This legislation will dramatically cut the price of many prescription drugs by allowing Medicare to negotiate drug prices with the pharmaceutical companies.

It’s a common-sense approach that can save lives and, according to the nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office (CBO), over ten years save Medicare nearly $500 billion. Savings that could be used to add basic dental, vision and hearing treatments to Medicare’s coverage and still save five billion dollars.

John, we are counting on the loyal support of our members and supporters to help us get this critical bill over the finish line in Congress. So please help us win this fight to hold Big Pharma accountable for their unfair drug pricing policies with a contribution in whatever amount you can afford today!

Sincerely,

Max Richtman
President & CEO
