Jim Jordan took 17 seconds to answer the question.
It was a simple one, posed in committee by Democrat Jim McGovern: “Will you admit that Joe Biden won fair and square, and the election was not rigged or stolen?”
Eventually, Jordan stated a fact -- that Biden would be inaugurated.
He failed to confirm the “fair and square” part.
In the Washington Post's article on the subject, there were mentions of “corporate America threatening to withhold donations from lawmakers who objected to the election results, and social media companies canceling accounts.” And we're thrilled that there are some consequences for these Republicans who can't let go of their toxic lies -- there should be.
But we need more than someone losing a book deal. We need all these representatives -- Jim Jordan certainly among them -- out of the government, off our television screens, and thinking quietly about what they've done (if that's something they're capable of.)
We're a group with a simple mission: get justice, real justice, in Washington. Get the worst enablers we've ever seen out of power. And get us a kind of politics we can be happy about again.
