Sen. Ted Cruz is known to be a liar and a two-faced politician. But his actions this week surely take the cake.

When it came time to choose between our democracy and Trump, Ted picked Trump. He chose to incite a riot and put members of Congress, their families, their staff, and the Capitol Police in danger.

Ted Cruz peddled conspiracy theories about the election being stolen, undermined our democracy, and provoked supporters to not “go quietly into the night” and “defend liberty.”

Now that accountability and law enforcement have come for the insurrectionists, Ted did what cowards do best — pretend nothing ever happened, and even congratulated the incoming administration.

If the GOP is allowed to continue unchecked and unchallenged, we won’t ever see the end of Trumpism in America. By organizing and targeting red to blue seats like Ted’s, we can finally get our country towards a more equitable and just future.
