1. NC VALUES: Biden’s first day

During his inaugural address, President Biden told the public that he planned on becoming the president of healing and unity. However his executive priorities and orders paint a very difference picture.

In contrast to this call for unity, on his first day in office he instead signed a radically divisive executive order that imposes the LGBT and transgender agenda across our nation. The order claims its aim is "preventing and combating discrimination on the basis of gender identity or sexual orientation," and calls on schools across the county to allow biological boys who identify as girls to participate in female sports, locker rooms, and bathrooms.

2. FOX NEWS: Biden executive order says schools should include transgender athletes in girls' sports

"President Biden, in an executive order aimed at ‘preventing and combating discrimination on the basis of gender identity or sexual orientation,’ is calling on schools across the country to allow transgender athletes to participate in the sport of their gender identity.

'Children should be able to learn without worrying about whether they will be denied access to the restroom, the locker room, or school sports,' reads the new order, released on the first day of his presidency.

The order is a strong signal that the Justice Department is going to enforce it via Title IX—and schools that don’t comply risk losing funding."

3. DAILY SIGNAL: Biden’s disbanding of 1776 Commission shows left’s war on US history

"All Americans should wish President Joe Biden well. To do otherwise would be churlish and self-defeating. It beggars belief, though, that one of his first intended acts was for his White House to take down the report issued Monday by the 1776 Commission, and on his first day as president, to disband the commission.

Is that really the priority? As one of the commissioners, I guess I’m flattered. But is the baying from the woke left so furious that dissolving a commission named after our nation’s founding, and deleting a report calling for teaching objective history, makes the top of the list?

The symbolism alone should give pause. But maybe the symbolism is the thing, and our new president wants to demonstrate his bona fides to the creators of the 1619 Project and their hard-left allies"

4. DAILY SIGNAL: Annual March for Life will be held virtually, not in person (1/29)

"The annual March for Life has been canceled in person this year, and the march’s president says this is only partly due to the coronavirus pandemic."

"Mancini said that the march’s annual rally will take place virtually and asked all participants to stay home and 'join the March virtually.

'We will invite a small group of pro-life leaders from across the country to march in Washington, DC this year,' she said. 'These leaders will represent pro-life Americans everywhere who, each in their own unique ways, work to make abortion unthinkable and build a culture where every human life is valued and protected.'"

5. NSCW: National School Choice Week Starts Monday (1/24-1/30)

With this week’s Executive Order forcing schools to become laboratories of indoctrination, it has never been more important for parents to have the freedom to choose the best schools for their children. The National School Choice Week (1/24-1/30) is the world's largest week-long celebration of school choice, and invites participants such as yourself to help raise public awareness of opportunities in education <[link removed]>.

WEEKLY PRAYER: LIBERTY

LORD, you have blessed us with a spiritual liberty that is so wonderful and beyond description, that it can only be understood through experiencing a life-giving relationship with Christ. However, we also recognize that in your grace, you have blessed our country with a political liberty that enables us to openly proclaim the experience of a life lived in the freedom of the Gospel.

LORD, as individuals and as a nation, may we never take the inalienable right of religious freedom for granted. Right now our country has faced a rapid increase in the number of attacks made against this cherished right. We have seen groups across our public arena increase in boldness and frequency their smears against religious liberty. They claim it is bigotry, when we know it is the security of the greatest of all possible loves.

Be with your people and our country as it continues to protect the constitutional right protected by our nation's Founders. Be with legislators and the Supreme Court, as they determine through their actions the protection of this particular and fundamental freedom.

“It was for freedom that Christ set us free; therefore keep standing firm and do not be subject again to a yoke of slavery." (Galatians 5:1)

"For you were called to freedom, brethren; only do not turn your freedom into an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another." (Galatians 5:13)

"Act as free men, and do not use your freedom as a covering for evil, but use it as bondslaves of God." (1 Peter 2:16)

Amen
