This month, the Immigration Project celebrated its 50th episode with a super-sized recording that covers the present, past, and future of the immigration policy debate in the United States. Host Jordan LaPier and the podcast’s regular team of Theresa Cardinal Brown and Cris Ramón cover the debate’s current fault lines, how the immigration system has shaped these discussions, and where the debate is going in a polarized political environment.

As the Democratic presidential debates have shown, President Trump’s continued focus on the issue, media coverage, and national discourse that immigration will play a key role in the 2020 election. On September 27, we will release and discuss the results of a new BPC and Morning Consult survey on what the American public will be prioritizing on immigration when they head to the polls, and more importantly, whether there is an appetite for bipartisanship on the issue.
