Victory!

Dear Friend,

Huge news! Following a massive PETA campaign—including hundreds of calls and e-mails from nearly 100,000 of our supporters, dozens of “Closed for Cruelty” protests at gas stations across the country, an “ExxonEvil” ad campaign, and more—ExxonMobil has confirmed that this is the last year it will sponsor the deadly Iditarod dogsled race, which it has sponsored since 1978.

This victory comes after PETA met with Exxon leadership and in response to our shareholder resolution, which urged the oil giant to consider eliminating sponsorships that benefit activities in which animals are exploited, harmed, or killed.

One of the last remaining top sponsors of the Iditarod, Exxon has funded the race to the tune of about $250,000 annually in recent years. While Exxon finally listened, others—including Millennium Hotels and Resorts—are still sponsoring it. Please join PETA in urging them to follow Exxon’s lead and end their sponsorships of the death race now.

Take Action Now!

Thank you for your compassion for animals.

Sincerely,

Melanie Johnson
