Finally! Donald Trump isn’t president anymore. It brought me so much joy to watch Joe Biden and Kamala Harris take the oath of office yesterday – knowing that we finally have leaders in the Oval Office who will prioritize justice and equity.

We’ve spent the past four years playing defense against Trump’s repeated attacks on our communities, our rule of law, and our hard-won rights. Those days are over. My team and I are resolved to be more proactive than ever heading into this new term, ready to repair the harm of the past four years and move our country forward. That means:


Tackling hunger, housing insecurity, and student debt.

Defending the rights of workers, the LGBTQ+ community, and immigrants and refugees.

Rebuilding our health care system, with a focus on addressing the inequities that existed in Black and brown communities long before COVID-19, and have been exacerbated by the pandemic.

Ensuring every policy, lawsuit, and idea that comes out of my office is viewed through the lens of equity and will not further harm communities that have long been left behind by our government.

Rooting out white supremacy of all forms, wherever we find it.
