In the past few weeks, the nation endured a roller coaster of
unprecedented events — an insurrection, the end of the Trump era, and a
new chapter in history as Joe and Kamala took the oath of office.

But we also gained three new Democratic senators who made history — and
took the majority away from Mitch McConnell.

Raphael Warnock is now the first Black senator from Georgia. Jon Ossoff is
the first Jewish senator from Georgia. And Alex Padilla is the son of
Mexican immigrants and California's first Latino senator. All three were
sworn in yesterday — and we want to congratulate them for their monumental

Without these Democratic leaders, we would still have Mitch McConnell and
the GOP in charge of the Senate. Joe Biden would have every piece of
legislation blocked and disrupted. And we would kiss accountability
goodbye.

These three senators deserve all of the recognition they can get. Let’s
congratulate them — and give them the support they need to fight for the
American people.
