Dear John,

The inauguration of President Biden opens the door for significant progress on gun violence prevention. We at the Coalition to Stop Gun Violence are prepared to lead the charge.
Yesterday President Biden called for unity, and we echo his call by urging you to help advocate for gun violence prevention policies that are overwhelmingly supported by voters of BOTH political parties. We are committed to seizing this moment to pass common sense legislation on behalf of ALL Americans.

But make no mistake, the path to success requires solidarity and focus. We cannot do it alone. We need you to join us in order to succeed. We cannot continue to allow partisanship to refute and ignore the undeniable epidemic of gun violence that kills nearly 40,000 Americans each year. [link removed]

I urge you to add YOUR voice to CSGV's coalition of advocates who believe in a future free from gun violence. Please join us by making a contribution to support our work. Your gift will help us represent the majority of Americans who yearn to be free from the threat of gun violence. [link removed]

It is time for Congress to initiate a new era of gun violence prevention and pass life saving policies. In the words of national youth poet laureate Amanda Gorman, "We will not march back to what was but move to what shall be."

A unified gun violence prevention movement can build momentum at this crucial juncture. We need you with us to prevail. Will you add your voice to a unified chorus imploring the new administration and Congress to step up and save lives? Your contribution will provide us with essential funds to help advocate for real life-saving policies, including:

-Reauthorization of the Violence Against Women Act
Keeping domestic violence victims safe from abusers with guns should not be a partisan issue.

-Preventing Veteran Firearm Suicide
Eleven veterans dying from gun suicide each day is a tragedy that should not be viewed through a partisan lens.

-Invest in Ending Community Violence
Funding violence intervention and prevention programs at the federal level could greatly reduce community violence and spare the lives of countless Americans.

-Banning the Open Carry of Weapons in Public

Our public places should be free of armed intimidation. We call for legislatures to ban this practice that embolden armed extremism and fuels insurrectionism, which threatens our democracy.

Together we can fight the partisan advocates who stand in the way of passing and enacting life-saving solutions. Please make a gift today to sanction progress! [link removed]

Our unified voices are an undeniable force.

Thank you,

Josh Horwitz
