Washington, DC - OCA-Asian Pacific American Advocates commends President Biden’s quick actions during his first few hours in office: signing 17 Executive Orders. Some of the signed orders overturn former President Trump’s actions, while others tackle ongoing crises that Americans are facing. Most notably, OCA recognizes rescinding the Muslim Travel Ban, protecting DACA recipients, restoring the most basic protections for racial equity and inclusion, and strengthening measures to curb the spread of COVID-19.

“Becoming the leader of a country in such a deeply-divided time is no easy task--a task that President Biden has taken to in full force. OCA applauds the first steps of reversing damaging policies from the previous administration, moving our country towards a semblance of normalcy,” says Linda Ng, National President of OCA. “These executive orders are a glimpse into the possibilities of the future of change we can create together. OCA looks forward to the work that President Biden, Vice President Harris, and their administration will do to advance this country for a better tomorrow. ”

OCA – Asian Pacific American Advocates is a national civil rights organization dedicated to improving the social, political, and economic well-being of Asian American and Pacific Islanders (AAPIs).
