John,

It feels good to say it: Donald J. Trump is no longer president. Our country is already much safer because of that, but the damage that Trump has done to our national security will take a long time to repair. And there’s still a risk he could do more damage, even out of office, if given the opportunity.

Traditionally, former presidents can receive routine intelligence briefings and access to classified information following their time in the White House. It’s been a courtesy extended to former presidents for many years, and one that has never been a cause for concern.

But Donald Trump has proven time and time again that he can’t be trusted with that privilege.

That’s why I’m calling for Trump to be cut off from receiving this sensitive information in the future. Add your name to my petition right now to join me.

We’re talking about a president — the only one in U.S. history — who was impeached twice, most recently for inciting his followers to conduct a violent insurrection against the U.S. Capitol. That cannot be taken lightly.

There’s no way around it: Trump has proven time and again that he had no interest in safeguarding the nation’s closest-held secrets, let alone the nation.

And that’s why I believe there is no circumstance in which Trump should receive another intelligence briefing — not now, not in the future.

Build the pressure to stop Trump’s access to post-presidential classified information and intelligence briefings: add your name now.
