Dear John,

Please hurry: this is your last chance to add your voice to the UK Government’s live exports consultation before it closes next week.

ACT NOW

When launching the consultation in December, the UK Government declared it plans “to ban the export of live animals for slaughter and fattening” from or through England and Wales.

Now the UK has completed its transition out of the EU, we must ensure the Government delivers on this promise.

This petition has already secured an amazing 80,000 signatures. Please add your name now. We’ll submit all the signatures next week as part of our consultation response.

Thank you so much for your support at this crucial moment in our battle to ban live exports.

Kind regards,
Nick

PS: Time is running out – the petition must close on 26th January. Please sign today.

NEW CONSULTATION:
PLEASE RESPOND

Dear John,

We’re on the verge of a HUGE BREAKTHROUGH in the campaign against UK live exports. Please, act now to help seal this victory.

Today, the UK Government has announced plans to “ban the export of live animals for slaughter and fattening”, and has launched a new public consultation on ending this trade.

This ban would apply to all live export journeys starting in, or passing through, England and Wales. But the outcome of the consultation is not guaranteed.

Please add your voice now to help end the suffering of thousands of animals each year.

The Government has said that Brexit offers the freedom to “do things… better” – including “abolishing the cruel live shipment of animals”. We believe this should apply to ALL UK live exports – but ending the trade in live sheep and calves from England and Wales would be an enormous step forwards.

Because of your relentless campaigning and determination, we have reached a tipping point in one of Compassion’s longest-running, hardest-fought campaigns.

Please, add your voice to our submission to the Government’s consultation. Demand that they really do follow through this time and ban live exports.

Thank you, so much, for helping to create a future free from this cruelty.

With best wishes,

Nick Palmer
