Saludos,
We are resending this email with a correction in how the races were listed below.
Latino Texas PAC is sponsoring an exciting Meet and Greet event on Monday, October 7, 2019 with special guest, Congressman Joaquin Castro. We hope you can join us!
Our endorsed candidates that will be present to share more information about their campaigns include:
- Chris Brown (Houston City Controller)
- Michele Leal (For State House District 148)
- Robert Gallegos (Houston City Council, District I)
- Isabel Longoria (For Houston City Council, District H)
- Sandra Rodriguez (For Houston City Council, District J)
- Raj Salhotra (For Houston City Council, At-Large 1)
- Judith Cruz (For HISD Trustee VIII)
This event will give you a chance to learn more about the candidates and their positions on issues that affect the Latino community.
Progress has been made but Latinos are still not proportionally represented in local, state, and federal government. One local example of this problem is that Latinos currently make up around 44% of the Houston-area population, yet only ONE Latino currently sits on Houston City Council. By electing more Latinos, and those who are committed to advocating on behalf of the Latino community, we can help change the face of our city and state’s politics and create real policy change.
The event is open to the public, so please feel free to share this invitation. Make sure to RSVP below.
