To our 106,000 Texas Dreamers and 1.6 million undocumented Texans: your president is fighting for you.

President Biden has been in office just a few hours, and he has already put forward a comprehensive immigration reform bill for Congress.

If passed, it will be earthshaking.

It offers a path to citizenship for our country's 11 million undocumented Americans.

It protects young people with DACA -- they'll be able to apply for a green card right away.

It will stop the border wall, and make this symbol of hate a simple relic of a dark past.

Citizenship -- or a pathway there -- is not just a piece of paper. It means not having to be afraid of being separated from your family -- both for people who are undocumented, and folks who are citizens but have undocumented loved ones. It means being able to work legally, drive legally, and get the same support as everyone else -- whether that's a coronavirus relief check or financial aid and student loans to get through college.

We still need to make sure this bill gets through Congress. But today, our President sent a clear message to the 11 million undocumented Americans who keep our country going: You are valued. You are as important to the United States as every other American. And you are here to stay.

I want to say one more thank you. Texas activists and organizers have led this fight for decades, and we are here today because of your relentless pursuit of justice.

Your president is listening. Your work is moving mountains.
