Team, we've waited for this day for so long.

So I'm glad to extend my heartfelt congratulations to our newly-inaugurated President and Vice President, Joe Biden and Kamala Harris.

I know that President Joe Biden will guide us through the unprecedented crises we face and will build a future that puts people first.

And I'm so happy that my friend, Vice President Kamala Harris, made history to become our nation's first woman Vice President, our first Asian American Vice President, and our first Black Vice President.

Today belongs to all of us — to each and every person who worked so hard to help Biden and Harris win. And I also want to celebrate everyone who helped deliver them a Democratic-controlled Congress that will put their agenda into action.

Of course, we have plenty of work left ahead of us. There is so much that needs to be done. But we took a huge step forward today by inaugurating new leadership who will be a President and Vice President for every American.

So I'm celebrating this historic day, and I hope you'll join me. And I hope you'll accept my deepest, sincerest thanks for helping to bring us here. We couldn't have done it without you, and I will be forever grateful.
