Today, the President of the United States in a racist and disgusting attack tweeted at four sitting Congresswomen telling them to “go back” to their own “crime infested places from which they came.”

Ilhan Omar, Ayanna Pressley, Rashida Tlaib, and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez represent a rising generation of leaders in the Democratic Party who symbolize the promise of a multiracial democracy where the billionaires on top who seek to divide us pay their fair share so everyone can have a decent life. This is what Donald Trump and the Republican Party want to stop.

These escalated and targeted attacks are part of this administration’s strategy to use race to divide and conquer America. Donald Trump and FOX News want to make white voters feel they have nothing in common with black and brown people who want to tax billionaires like them and provide healthcare for all.

It has never been about being undocumented or not. After months of dehumanizing and committing humans rights abuses to undocumented immigrants at our border and in the media narrative, they’re now lumping in prominent black and brown American citizens with immigrants to pit Americans against each other.

This reality is why we fight for social, racial, economic, and environmental justice — because all of these ideals are linked together, and Trump is launching an assault against all of them. This is why it's so important to fight for all people. This is why we cannot accept 'compromises' that throw any group under the bus.
