Dear Friend,

We’ve been eager for this day for four long years. Trump is finally gone! President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris are in charge, and the Democrats control both chambers of Congress. What a remarkable opportunity!

We should give this day its due. I feel such a sense of relief and I’m sure that you do, too. But what we do from today forward will shape the future of this nation for decades. Time is of the essence.

Will you sign our pledge to demand that Biden prioritize LGBTQ immigrants during his first 100 days?

Immigration Equality knows how to restore the rights of LGBTQ immigrants and families. Over the past few years, we won three lawsuits on behalf of same-sex couples and families whose children were denied birthright U.S. citizenship. Two weeks ago, we stopped Trump regulations that would have gutted the asylum system. And while we were doing all of that, we also won asylum for hundreds of queer and trans refugees.

Now, we will add substantial administrative and legislative advocacy to our already impressive arsenal for change. This is where you come in! We will need your help to push President Biden to reform the Departments of Justice, State, and Homeland Security, in order to:

  • Roll back all of the damage created by Trump’s policies;

  • Use the power of the Presidency to increase protections for queer asylum seekers, and free them from detention; and

  • Treat same-sex couples and their children just like all other families.

At the same time, the Biden administration’s legislative agenda looks very promising. In fact, it includes many of the recommendations we provided to his transition team. As such, we will also need your help to demand that the House and Senate pass the reforms our community needs. In the coming days and weeks, we will need you to stand with us.

Sign up RIGHT NOW to fight with us. Let’s do this in 100 days!

Onward!
