Earlier today, Joe Biden and Kamala Harris were sworn in as our president and vice president.

Facing multiple crises and a deeply divided nation, the new Biden-Harris administration takes office at a decisive chapter in our history. 

In their first moments in power, they’ve already taken swift action to:

- Rejoin the Paris climate agreement and cancel the Keystone XL pipeline
- End the discriminatory travel ban on predominately Muslim countries
- Work to reunite immigrant children cruelly separated from their families at the border
- Provide relief from COVID-19 by halting evictions and student loan payments

Young voters elected Joe Biden and Kamala Harris to the White House last year, but our work is just getting started. The Biden-Harris campaign ran on the most progressive platform of any modern presidential ticket, and now we plan on doing all in our power to help get that agenda across the finish line.

Over the next 100 days, NextGen America is committed to ensuring that young people have a seat at the table -- and that the new administration keeps its promises to our generation. We also want to hear about what you’re hoping to see in the first few months of the new year.

After four long years, we are finally turning the page on one of the most disgraceful chapters of modern U.S. history. Nevertheless, it’s clear we have a lot of work to do to uproot every trace of white supremacy and far-right extremism that have been present in our country for centuries. 

Even during moments that have felt hopeless, it’s been people like you who have given me hope for what our future holds. We don’t expect to agree with every decision made by the new administration, but we finally have leaders in office who will listen to us. And that’s the first step.
