We did it! The Muslim Ban has been rescinded by President Joe Biden.
The past four years have been challenging. Following his election, the Trump Administration's first presidential action banned travel from the Muslim majority countries of Iran, Iraq, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, Syria and Yemen. In 2020, Trump expanded that ban to include Nigeria, Eritrea, Tanzania, Sudan, Kyrgyzstan and Myanmar. For years now, families and loved ones have been separated by this ban with tragic consequences.
During our Million Muslim Votes Summit, then presidential candidate Joe Biden announced his commitment to repeal Trump's Muslim Ban on DAY ONE. And today, he has delivered on that promise.
Ever since Trump's first Muslim Ban executive order, Emgage and our partners have fought the discriminatory policy by:
- Endorsing and advocating for the passage of the NO BAN Act, by connecting constituents to their members of Congress
- Submitting over 600 letters to members of Congress, urging them to repeal the ban
- Successfully lobbying in-district to get all democratic representatives in VA, MI, TX, FL, and 8 in PA signing on to the NO BAN Act.
- Most importantly, Emgage's Million Muslim Votes Summit was the first occasion when Joe Biden promised to repeal the Muslim Ban "on day one" in office. Watch Biden's speech on the Muslim Ban, to Emgage, above.
We know you share our passion for equity and justice and that's why we need your support to continue this crucial work fighting for all Muslims.

The Muslim Ban is coming to an end, but our work is not done. We need to ensure that no such discriminatory ban is ever implemented again, and that the Biden Administration makes it a priority to review ALL visa/immigration cases denied over the last four years and to provide support to those stuck in limbo within the administrative process.
