We are going to get through the coronavirus outbreak together. If you are experiencing symptoms or are looking for more information, you can visit the website of the CDC or the Illinois Department of Health. We are closely monitoring the situation and its effects on the people of Illinois and our nation as we work together to keep our families and communities safe.
John, On November 3rd, after four years of marching, organizing, and speaking truth to power, we did it. We stopped Trump. And we made history. Today, we celebrate Joe Biden’s victory. We also celebrate the inauguration of the first woman, African-American, and South Asian-American to serve as Vice President. And Kamala Harris won’t be the only one blazing trails today. Alex Padilla, the son of Mexican immigrants, will be sworn in as California’s first-ever Latino senator. Rev. Raphael Warnock will become the first Black senator from Georgia, and Jon Ossoff will become the state’s first Jewish senator. Today is a day of hope and new beginnings for our country. I am honored to be a part of the celebration. This is only the beginning. I know in my heart that our future is full of hope and promise. I look forward to rolling up my sleeves and getting to work delivering for working people. ¡Sí se puede! Chuy García |
