The stakes are high and refugees need you to take action.
International Rescue Committee | Take Action

Hello, John,

President Biden was sworn in today and our work with the new administration has already begun.

The IRC is working to keep refugee, asylum and immigration issues at the top of the agenda for this administration.

President Biden committed to making the U.S. the global leader in refugee protection once again, by admitting up to 125,000 refugees in the first year of his administration.

John, I know you care about refugees too — so I hope you'll join us in urging President Biden to act quickly to protect refugees:

When you take this action, your calls and emails will go straight to the White House so that the Biden administration knows that you want the U.S. to be a global leader in providing safety to refugees once again.

Right now, 80 million people around the world are forcibly displaced from their homes. There are more refugees today than ever before and taking urgent action to help them is absolutely critical.

Refugee resettlement is the life-saving option for over 1.4 million of the most vulnerable fleeing tyranny, war and persecution.

Over the past four years, America's longstanding, bipartisan legacy of offering safe haven to those most in need was dismantled. Refugee admissions plummeted more than 85%. Unfortunately, in just the last year, the Trump administration proposed a historically low goal of admitting just 15,000 refugees — the lowest refugee admissions goal in our history — which followed years of steadily eroding refugee admissions.

John: There's a lot of work that needs to be done to restore the refugee resettlement program — but with advocates like you by our side, the new administration will know there are Americans across the country who stand with refugees and are ready to welcome refugees in their communities.

Thank you for your action today,
