Hi John,
What a day! Joe Biden and Kamala Harris have officially been sworn in as our 46th President and Vice President. This is an historic day.
As President Biden said in his inauguration speech: “We see the first woman in American history elected to the national office, Vice President Kamala Harris. Don't tell me things can't change."
Today marks the start of a new era in Washington, DC with gun safety champions in the White House and both chambers of Congress!
The armed attack on the U.S. Capitol and the threats to state capitals across the country made it clear that action to prevent gun violence cannot wait. Even before the insurrection, gun safety had taken on a new urgency in the wake of the coronavirus and record-breaking gun sales. Our new leaders in Washington must make it a priority.
Biden and Harris made up the strongest gun violence prevention ticket in history and we can’t wait for them to get to work. But we know that electing gun responsibility champions is just the first step toward making real progress.
We will be working day in and day out to make sure the Biden/Harris administration follows through on its promise to act to end gun violence. We want your input on what they should prioritize first. Take this short survey to inform our 2021 strategy.
Cheers,
Dylan (he/him)
