It's finally here: Today we can say clearly, welcome President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris!

This is a new day for people and the planet. With President Biden and Vice President Harris in the White House, and an all-star team of climate experts behind them, we are finally on a path forward to a more equitable and just clean energy future.

Today belongs to you. You helped elect a president with the most ambitious climate plan in history, and the first female, first Black, and first South Asian American vice president. We owe a debt of gratitude to every person who volunteered, organized, donated, and voted for this monumental change ? especially to the communities of color who once again showed up to protect our democracy.

But this is just the beginning. We now must begin the hard work of taking on the four interconnected crises our nation faces ? the pandemic, a broken economy, racial injustice, and climate change. And we'll do it together.

Here is what we hope to see, with your help, from the Biden-Harris administration in the coming days and weeks: Deliver 100% clean electricity by 2035. Scale up pollution-free and affordable transportation options through electrifying cars, transit and school buses, and heavy-duty trucks by at least 2035, 2030, and 2040, respectively. Recover from the pandemic by putting millions of people to work in high-quality union jobs in fields that would help us to reduce pollution, advance clean energy, electrify transportation, retrofit buildings, improve our water infrastructure, support natural climate solutions, and build affordable and sustainable housing. Drive 40% of investment benefits into environmental justice communities ? low-income communities, communities of color, and Indigenous communities that are hit hardest by toxic pollution and climate impacts. Make our public lands and oceans part of the climate solution by ending fossil fuel extraction on the public estate, scaling up renewable energy, and investing in natural climate solutions such as reforestation and permanently protect 30% of our lands and waters by 2030.
