“Roughly four times more than the amount of troops currently in Afghanistan and Iraq combined.”

That's what Newsweek is reporting about the size of the military presence in DC for the inauguration. It's at least 20,000 National Guard troops all told -- the reason they're needed is still all too fresh in our minds.

The majority of us detest political violence, condemn the violent insurrection that occured in the Capitol, and want nothing more than a return to peace and prosperity under Joe Biden and Kamala Harris.

But numbers don't lie. And the amount of troops in the Capitol shows we're still nowhere near that goal.

Progressive Majority wants to be a force for peace in 2021. But sometimes peace does require force -- for good people to step up, FORCEFULLY condemn the threat of alt-right aggression, give DIRECTLY to support the work liberal leaders are doing to pass laws that will protect and empower marginalized Americans, and get America back on its feet. Will you give what you can now so that, by the time Democrats are re-inaugurated in 2024, we won't need as many troops standing by?
