YES!!!!!!!!!!!! President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris are
now officially in office! We are pinching ourselves. Can it be true? We
are here to reassure you that this moment has indeed arrived, and real
change has come!!!
Congratulations to President Biden and Vice-President Harris, the first
Black, South Asian woman and self-described “momala” ever elected to this

We are on the edge of transformative policy change at a time of
significant need.

that a grassroots force over a million strong is here and ready to push
forward for change!
Our nation is facing record rates of unemployment, especially among moms
and women of color, a deadly virus, school and childcare closures, racial
injustice, and attacks on our very democracy. The million member-strong
MomsRising movement knows our country is in crisis and that we need
comprehensive solutions to tackle the needs of our nation. So, to get to
solutions, we laid out a road map: MomsRising Mandate for America. This
policy plan will not only help rebuild America and advance recovery, but
will also help transform our nation into a place where every family can
thrive, as our businesses and economy thrive too.
A new Administration and a new Congress gives us all an opportunity to
create much-needed, new, and long-lasting transformative change that will
be necessary for a strong democracy and economy.

administration urging them to prioritize our families, communities, and
economy by vowing to:
* Advance emergency COVID-19 relief;
* Secure healthcare for everyone;
* Lift the economy, safety net, taxes, and jobs;
* Push forward criminal justice and policing reform;
* Strengthen workplace justice, including paid family and medical leave,
as well as paid sick days;
* Pass affordable, accessible, quality childcare opportunities for all;
* Advance maternal health and reproductive health;
* Move forward fair treatment of all immigrant families;
* Strengthen gun safety;
* Expand voting rights along with democracy protection.
The challenges facing women, and especially mothers and women of color,
are more serious right now than they’ve been in years. The data is in and
the pandemic is having an outsized impact on women and moms, with women of
color experiencing compounded harms due to structural racism. [2] The
pandemic has turned the cracks in our systems into catastrophes, exposing
just how much families, communities, and our economy depend on the work of
women even though that work has long been, and continues to be, vastly
undervalued.
With moms and our nation facing unprecedented challenges, we need
immediate solutions. The status quo is not sustainable. Moms are trying to
keep the jobs that our families and economy depend on and also care for
our kids whose child care programs have shuttered and whose schools are
operating only virtually. We’re trying to care for our parents, some of
whom are terrified to leave their homes. And moms across our nation are
trying to make ends meet on budgets that are stretched beyond the breaking
point while being disproportionately pushed out of the labor force.
