Today, Joe Biden was inaugurated as president of the United States.

This is a historic moment for our country as we move into a new era of government with President Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris in the White House and Democratic control of both the House and the Senate.

This moment arrives after a long and difficult time for our country: a pandemic, an economic crisis, and dangerous attacks on our democracy and the U.S. Capitol.

When I was sworn in for my second term as Congresswoman for New Jersey’s 11th District earlier this month, I took an oath to uphold our Constitution and protect democracy. I take my sworn oath seriously. It guides everything I do in Congress.

I won’t let all of the hard work it took to get us to this moment go to waste. I intend to improve the lives of New Jerseyans and Americans across the country over the coming weeks and months.
